==== Birth ====
Susannah M. Hiteshew was born on 17.Aug.1848 in Middletown, Frederick, MD. Her parents were Daniel Hiteshew and Susan Grinder.

==== Name ====
In the 1850 census record her name is shown as Susan, but in adult life she seems to have gone by Annie or Anna.  On her gravestone her name is shown as Susannah.  Where a middle initial is shown, it is always M, but there are no known records spelling out the middle name.  It seems most likely that she was named "Susannah" as a variation on her mother's name "Susan," and this ended up being shortened to Anna/Annie rather than Susan.

On 6.Dec.1866, Susannah M. Hiteshew married Henry T. Mitchell.  The marriage took place in Bolivar, Jefferson, WV.  (Bolivar is a town adjacent to Harrpers Ferry and is sometimes referred to as Harpers Ferrry.)

Annie died at age 57 on 7.Jun.1899 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, OH. Her grave is in Riverside Cemetery, Cleveland, Cuyahoga, OH.
((The date of death is confirmed by a short notice appearing in The Mail (Haggerstown, MD) on 23.Jun.1889.  The notice reads as follows: "Mrs. Annie Mitchell died Jun 7 at Cleveland, aged 57.  Deceased leaves a husband and several brothers and sisters, including Mrs. Savilla Ensminger, Williamsport."))
